Nabati poetry, also known as the 'people's poetry' or 'bedouin poetry' is considered a literary treasure unique to the Arabian Peninsula. Nabati poetry is an integral part of the UAE’s history, as well as Emirati culture and heritage. During certain eras, the spoken word recorded in this poetry was the only record of historical events.

Translated from Arabic into English by Kamal Abdel-Malek and Frank Dullaghan, these verses offer a unique insight into the UAE's heritage and culture. The poems speak of life and love, triumphs and trials and celebrate the richness of humanity. This is a colourful collection and celebrates Nabati poetry and the philosophy and values of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.
